*Stay tuned to see Trevor’s punishment for losing our bet

Match #1 – Orne (23) vs. Rodych (8)

Team Orne put a strong cap onto the end of a great season, finishing only 4 points back of Team LaMonica for the second half. Team Rodych can at least take comfort in the fact they managed to keep themselves out of last, finishing 2.5 points ahead of 16th for the season. The battle at third was in Linda Orne’s (837) hand until a late game four collapse 229-155 caused Lexi Sutherland (842) to steal the win on the night. The rest of Team Orne hung on take their matchups, combining for 12 out of 15 individual points. David Wastle (908) took four points off Carter Schade (764), unfortunately falling just one point shy of claiming the highest win percentage in the league. Season series Team Orne (47) 2 – 0 Team Rodych (15)

Dominant Performances

Darren Maxwell – 969 (4)

Tyson’s Pick: Team Orne ( ✓ )

Trevor’s Pick: Team Orne ( ✓ )

Match #2 – Youzwa (21) vs. Cook (10)

Team Youzwa crushed the last sliver of hope Team Cook had of squeaking into A-side. Team Youzwa finished 7th and Team Cook in 10th. Alyssa Campbell (920) and Chloe Fleming (906) had a back and forth match all night, with Alyssa holding on to take the win, and ironically makes these two tied exactly for average going into roll-offs and for the draft next season. Much to Team Cook’s dismay that was as far as they got win-wise, the rest of the night was all Team Youzwa. The most notable being Mark Prystupa (958) breaking out his season high in the last week of league, and fun fact his 779-triple beat 50% of his four game totals this season. The rest of his team also had good nights as Colton Youzwa (990) and Jenna Gillrie combined for 7 points. Season series Team Youzwa (43) 2 - 0 Team Cook (19)

Dominant Performances

Mark Prystupa – 779 (3), 958 (4)

Colton Youzwa – 345 (1), 990 (4)

Tyson’s Pick: Team Cook ( X )

Trevor’s Pick: Team Cook ( X )

Match #3 – Lourenco (26) vs. Enns (5)

This could potentially be a preview of the top B-side teams going head-to-head. Team Lourenco decided to end the regular season with a bang, having a nearly perfect night from their bottom three bowlers, combining for 14 of 15 points. Leading the charge once again was Belle Lourenco (1030) and followed closely behind by her anchor Ethan Buckman (1016). Belle and second, Dave Duncan (843) clean swept the middle of the lineup as both Garry Bell (733) and Craig Enns (801) struggled to get anything going all night, only breaking 200 in two games. The bright side for their team is that all of Dwight Hurd (784) yet again talked his way to another victory, ending the season on five straight wins. Team Lourenco also goes into the roll-offs as the only B-side team to have been in the top 8 in the second half standings, boding well for their chances. Season series Team Lourenco (50.5) 2 - 0 Team Cousins (11.5)

Dominant Performances

Belle Lourenco – 309 (1), 1030 (4)

Ethan Buckman – 801 (3), 1016 (4)

Tyson’s Pick: Team Lourenco ( ✓ )

Trevor’s Pick: Team Lourenco ( ✓ )

Match #4 – B. Jeffers (10) vs. LaMonica (21)

Team LaMonica does it once again, as they win both halves this year and obviously take aggregate as well. They won the second half by 4 points over Team Orne, and won aggregate by 23 points over Team Gelardi. A big part of this was the late season run that both Sam Gelardi (1033) and Andrew LaMonica (1051) made in the last eight weeks, combining for twelve 1000+ totals in that span. Going into the A-side roll-offs Team B. Jeffers is the complete opposite as they finished the second half in 11th and are the only A-side team to have been out of the top 8 in the half. A stronger night from Ben Jeffers (948) and a lot of clutch finishes from Scott Saunderson (748) are the biggest positives to takeaway from this match. Season series Team LaMonica (42) 2 - 0 Team B. Jeffers (20)

Dominant Performances

Andrew LaMonica – 847 (3), 1051 (4)

Sam Gelardi – 301 (1), 822 (3), 1033 (4)

Tyson’s Pick: Team LaMonica ( ✓ )

Trevor’s Pick: Team LaMonica ( ✓ )

Match #5 – Hurd (14) vs. Cousins (17)

With both teams locked in pretty well in the middle of their respective sides of the roll-offs this game may not have had many implications, but still was a very tight match with the win going to Team Cousins thanks to winning grand total 3515-3505. This also means Team Hurd successfully went the full season with doing everything in streaks, never winning or losing in less than two-week increments. Team captain Chad Hurd (947) was big in keeping his team in this match, giving a 214-pin advantage over Shannon Pruden (734). However, this was fairly well offset by Gillian LaMonica (901) putting up her second 900+ in as many weeks, giving her team a 183-pin win at leadoff over Ryan Bannerman (718). The anchor matchup was really the nail in the coffin, as Cindy Cousins (996) grinded out two wins by 4 pins or less over Brett Hendrickson (937). Season series Team Hurd (37) 1 - 1 Team Cousins (25)

Dominant Performances

Gillian LaMonica – 731 (3)

Cindy Cousins – 314 (1), 996 (4)

Tyson’s Pick: Team Hurd ( X )

Trevor’s Pick: Team Hurd ( X )

Match #6 – King (21) vs. C. Jeffers (10)

What a final stretch of the season for Team King, with multiples teams breathing down their neck they rallied off five straight wins to end the season and hold onto the 8th and final A-side spot. They may have finished 21.5 points ahead of 9th, but if tonight had gone differently for them and Team Cook, things could have been much closer. On the other side Team C. Jeffers has to be looking forward to the light at the end of the tunnel, finishing in 16th place. A small bright side, Chris Jeffers (937) put up his second-best week of the season and Al Bristow (875) had a strong showing as well. On the flip side, Team King had a fairly average night with the exception of team captain Wayne King (1045) who coasted through his night off a 622-double in games one and two. Season series Team King (42) 2 - 0 Team C. Jeffers (20)

Dominant Performances

Wayne King – 333 (1), 622 (2), 863 (3), 1045 (4)

Tyson’s Pick: Team King ( ✓ )

Trevor’s Pick: Team King ( ✓ )

Match #7 – Devenney (21.5) vs. Bartram (9.5)

These two teams are also probably glad to see the season coming to an end, as the 13th and 14th place teams. Most likely this night was all just for fun as only one bowler was over average and that was Neil Stewart (840). The spares were probably the most driven tonight as they both technically were over average too as Lana Wachal (814) faced off against Sandi Anderson (961). Both these teams have had their fair share of struggles this season, but I think that will translate into a good stepping stone for next season where almost every player on this set will come as a value pick based on their individual potentials. Season series Team Devenney (33.5) 1 - 1 Team Bartram (28.5)

Dominant Performances

Sandi Anderson – 961 (4)

Tyson’s Pick: Team Bartram ( X )

Trevor’s Pick: Team Bartram ( X )

Match #8 – Gelardi (19) vs. Stevenson (12)

Team Gelardi will wrap up the season as the league’s number two team, while Team Stevenson tied Team Hurd for 4th. Overall, Team Gelardi bowled fairly average with Robbie Hendrickson (931) having a good night, balancing out a slower night from Dwayne Gelardi (954). It was really Team Stevenson who beat themselves in this one. Jayden Nickerson (789) brought his 11-week stretch of 900+ totals to a screeching halt, getting swept for only the second time this season. This coupled with a season low from Tyler Reynolds (732) was just too much for team captain Dylan Stevenson (1044) to carry despite having a very strong night. This week may have been extra big for Dylan as he now will potentially be the last captain for next season. Both these teams will be big game threats to watch out for in the A-side roll-offs tonight. Season series Team Gelardi (35) 2 - 0 Team Stevenson (27)

Dominant Performances

Dylan Stevenson – 329 (1), 835 (3), 1044 (4)

Tyson’s Pick: Team Gelardi ( ✓ )

Trevor’s Pick: Team Stevenson ( X )
